AlanHo
The drop down window in IE7 where you type the URL no longer retains previous entries - it is totally blank.I used to be able to click the arrow at the end of the little window where you type a URL and a drop down panel would open showing all previous typed entries. It now opens as a blank white rectangle. Is there some setting I have disturbed and how do I get it back? -pops-
Remember that IE7 is not yet in its final version. Are you using a Beta or the recent RC?Do you use Ccleaner (or anything similar)? These programs clear out the histories of sites in the address field unless you instruct it not to.Perhaps I am odd in my Internet use but I never use that box now. All web sites that I link to are connected either from Bookmarks/Favorites or located from a Google search. Even sites I'm familiar with (but which aren't in bookmarks) are brought up in this way. The reason I do this is because it is so easy to make a tiny slip in the typing of an address which will result in a failure to link to the required site and as some addresses are extremely long, a mistake in the typing is highly likely. AlanHo
I have resolved my problem.Quite by accident I discovered that buried in the bowels of my Telewest Blueyonder security package, is a setting which automatically removes all traces of your surfing each time you close Internet Explorer. I have unticked this item and all is now back to normal.
djohn
Me too, I stick my forums on the IE toolbar then everything else is from favs or google uk which is my homepage. I'm at that stage like pops where I go to hit one key and end up headbutting 5 or 6.
