sapins Posted September 15, 2006 Report Share Posted September 15, 2006 A friend when trying to get on line gets the message "cannot connect to modem"Device manager shows the modem is working correctly, can a modem be faulty and still show as working correctly? -pops- Posted September 15, 2006 Report Share Posted September 15, 2006 Have the drivers/software been installed?I have a modem (Olitec) which shows up as working correctly in Device Manager but will not function at all without some quite large software package being installed. Are all proper lines connected?I believe the term "cannot communicate with modem" refers to the drivers, although it's been some time since I have worked with dial-up.
