Installing IE 5.5 on WIN2K

Recommended Posts

Do you guys know where could I find IE 5.5 installers for WIN2K SP4? I found one on the web but its for WIN2K SP2. WIN2K currently uses IE6.0 but I wanted to install IE5.5 in it too since the software we are using only works for IE5.5. I tried installing it but I could not find any folder for IE 5.5 being created at my local folders, I don't know why.

Thanks,

But I am not sure if you can install or run both IE6 and IE55 on the same system. Also I am not sure if you can downgrade IE6 to IE55. But if you need it, it's worth a try.

Be sure to have a full backup if you need to recover that system if it fails.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think you can go to an earlier version than was installed with the operating system. I know of course that if you upgrade to a later version, you can uninstall this and revert to the previous version.

its very unuasul for it not to work, what program are you using that is asking for ie5.5????

all IE, Firefox etc. do is interprete text, older versions would do nothing more then cause display issues(html xml that is, not litteral video display)

P.s- only one version of IE per folder, Per installation.
