peektar Posted September 27, 2006 Report Share Posted September 27, 2006 I am running XP Home edition on my computer.I have the screensaver set to run a 'My picture' slideshow after 4 minutes of inactvity.But unless I click anywhere on the desktop or on the taskbar before leaving my computer, the screensaver does not start.Usually this is not a problem, I just click and it starts. But sometimes I forget or others using the computer don't do it. Last night the computer was on for over 8 hours with no screensaver running.What can I do to make sure the screensaver always runs automatically?Thanks. -pops- Posted September 27, 2006 Report Share Posted September 27, 2006 First of all don't worry too much about your screensaver not kicking in when it should. Modern monitors are not so prone to screen burn as previously and TFT screens do not suffer from it at all.Have you checked the settings for the screensaver? RIGHT click a blank area of your desktop, click Properties then the Screensaver tab. You should be able to make any adjustments from there.It does seem odd, though, that you activate the screensaver by clicking the desktop. The usual thing is that the screensaver comes into action automatically after a predetermined period of inactivity on the computer. Have you ever installed any separate screensaver programs?
