Hey guys, I Have a huge problem I cant loaded windows everytime I try to login in it just reboots at the windows xp loading page and then restarts and keeps looping over and over again. So I put the Windows Xp home addition disc in (which is oem ) what ever that means. Anyway before it loads the hard drive it ask's me if i want to boot for the cd (press and key) so I do then it loads from the disc and it prompts me if i want to install a new version of windows or do i want to try to repair. using the recovery console. well I want to repair windows because I cant lose any of the data on my hard drive becuase there is a lot of work for school and work that I have on there as well as a lot of family photos. So I click R then it brings me to a dos prompt and it ask me what drive I want to recover I select the c:/ drive (1) then it ask me for a administrator password, and I have no clue what it is, I didn't even know that I had a administrator password. so my question is this.

1)How do i find out what the adminstrative password is?

2) Is there a way to fix this looping at the windows loading screen, anyway at all, with out loosing the data on the harddrive?

3)should I be using the repair console or should i be doing something else?

4) what should i do?

thanks guy if you can help please do i really need some of the projects off my hard drive

ohh also i should note i tried to get around this by installing windows on another hard drive and the putting the broken one as a slave and the new one as a master, So if i do that im able to search through the broken harddrive, the only problem is alot of the information is saved in documents and settings>user and i cant open that file that way it says acces denied, also it changed the root of the hold drive from c:/ to f:/ if i put both harddrives in .

5) is there a way to get into user folder to if i have my comp setup that way?

-first of all, i would call a friend of yours which has got a computer or something where you can backup your files [unplug your harddisk and plug it into the other computer [not sure it works correctly], then just tranfer the files...] {try removing the security with a program > or maybe compressing it with winrar and extracting them somewhere else will work?}

-i think this is a virus, because a friend of mine also had this problem [after a Trojan infection...], then you must reinstall windows after formatting your computer

-other than this i dont know what it is... [you could try to startup in a mode which keeps you from logging in, but im not certain it exists... :( ]

sorry if i didnt help you
