Anne on Mull
My lap top is very slow and I wish to 'flatten' it by reloading xp pro. The cd that came with the machine tells me that the OS on my machine is more up to date than the cd. I think this may be because I have loaded SP1 and SP2. Can I reload with the original cd and then load the 2 service packs?
Alan2273
If you combine the origonal CD (provided it is not a restore CD) and the SP2 Cd together, this is called slipstreaming you can reinstall XP.This is a guide done by powerless and takes you through step by step in slipstreaming.http://forums.windowsforum.org/index.php?showtopic=12469
Boris
Or if you're not "techy" here's how our resident expert Chris shows you how to do it even more easily using a free little tool called AutoStreamerhttp://www.simplyguides.net/guides/using_a...ostreamer.shtml
