-pops- Posted October 21, 2006 Report Share Posted October 21, 2006 I downloaded WMP 11 from click here.It will detect your Windows version and check if your copy is genuine before you can download. It didn't seem to be bothered that I was in the UK.Do NOT remove WMP 10 as you may want to revert to it if you don't like the later version.I think it's because all its contacts to media libraries are for the US that it states it's for a US audience but I think that as you want it for its technical capabilities, that's not going to matter very much. -pops- Posted October 21, 2006 Report Share Posted October 21, 2006 I think it hides the previous version.I'm pretty sure that the 11 version can be removed to revert to version 10.But, but, but, as in all these things, set (at the very least) a System Restore Point and preferably make a full system backup before embarking on installing any software, especially beta types. It's strange because it didn't appear on my pc at work, but I cannot stop it at home.The exe has something to do with sharing the libary over a network. I also have wmp11 installed but don't have wmpnscfg.exe running. If nothing there works try searching the registry and removing it from the wmp11 file list.HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Updates\Windows Media Player 11\SP0\wmp11\Filelist\41It may help, I don't have wmpnscfg running but after deleting the key it didn't cause any problems.
