CJ550
I'm about to go live on my new website offering a product that I hope to sell around the World- my web designer has advised me to go with a PayPal merchant account to accept online payments? I said ok but I personally would have liked a credit card payment facility but he told me it could prove expensive to setup? Any advice on accepting payments online ? thanks
-pops-
For all things financial it is best to take advice from the business account manager at your bank.
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Why not multiple payment methods? I personally wouldn't buy anything from you if you'd force me to use PayPal. You could accept credit cards, PayPal, and of course Google Checkout

I've been using www.cardservicesales.com to process my payments. They have worked out great for me, but you might want to use a merchant account over paypal if you plan on accepting worldwide payments. Scarecrow Man
A lot of people are using Google Checkout these days. Paypal is also a good idea. If your in Canada, we also have something called: Certapayhttp://www.certapay.com/en/This allows customers to use debit online, just as they would with credit. I am sure there is something similar for other countries.
mcb2001
i know that in denmark, there is alot of online payment companies, which offers a simple pop-up window form, for payment. The transaktion is therefore secure, and trusted by the banks. Further more, its cheap, since you pay "per payment" and i am rather sure that there would be similar companies in you country, that could offer you a similar thing...But as your web designer told you, if its a VERY small bussiness, it might prove expensive, since there is a start up fee, and a transaktion fee!So look arround for it, its there, and for bussiness with more then 500£ profit per month its definatly payable...
