I can't really afford a proper Antec or Enermax, but the QTec 550W Gold PSU seems to get good reviews as a budget option.It will have to cope with :-L7VTA mobo + 512MB PC2700 DDRAMAthlon XP2000GeForce4 MX440 64MB DDRDVD drive40/16/48 CD/RW80 gig Maxtor ATA133Any comments / suggestions ? Guest Nellie2 Posted July 5, 2003 Report Share Posted July 5, 2003 Nice find Ellas but Boris's PSU was a 350watt one.....and that couldn't cope with his kit!!The Tsunami PSU - although its 350W + allegedly rated to give 14A on 12V - it just can't cope with the initial load of the XP2000 + 512MB PC2700 +Geforce4 alone ! Seems to me that some manufacturers are quoting max output and others maybe quoting sustainable output :( Enlight - in an Enlight Micro ATX case - it's actually badged as an Advent - model 3046 ?He's also gone to 512MB PC133 SDRAM from the original 128MB.Oh - its only got 1 H/D - I forgot it's just partitioned as 2 drives. Boris Posted July 7, 2003 Author Report Share Posted July 7, 2003 Its got a nice "solid" look and feel for a PSU - it's even got clear rather than black fans !I installed ME last night on the new rig (I got given a full copy last Friday by someone who had upgraded straight to XP Pro from 98SE and no longer wanted it :o - I have to give them 12 months hardware support in exchange ! :D ) and left it running for a few hours to see if anything fell over - no problems so far.
