deuces wild
My 19 year old son took up running a few months ago and now runs 3 miles/day on a regular basis. Starting at 1 mile his progress has been remarkable.A few weeks ago he signed up for a local competitive meet that normally brings in close to 500 runners. As this was his first race he opted for the 5k (3.1 mile) race but did not know it was more of a cross country race (through the woods) rather than a race on asphalt or concrete. It rained all day yesterday and the leaves have been falling.Because of a bad cold he just got over he also did not train for the past 4 days. The result? He ran in his normal running shoes (no spikes as one would normally wear for cross country), fell once because of the mud and finished.................3rd!!!!!!!!!!!!I am very proud of him.
