Government throws away yet more money

I am of the old school and believe that every method should be used to stop any drugs getting into prisons. If authorities are turning a blind eye to the presence of drugs in prison to keep prisoners quiet - they should be held to account.

No prisoner should be allowed drugs from the time of admission - but a prisoner having withdrawl problems should be medically treated in such a way as to wean him/her off drugs - and not simply provide methadone as an ongoing substitute for evermore. The taxpayer should not be asked to fund prisoners drug habits - but we already carry the cost of medicare - and this should continue with the specific objective of curing their dependency before release.

It is too easy to say that anyone deserving of prison should be subjected to cold turkey as part of the punishment. Whilst I believe that prisons should not be a holiday camp - an excessively harsh and unfocused regime will only make matters worse in the long run.

I think it is a conspiracy to make it possible for certain people in high positions to be compensated, for loss of earnings needed to pay off huge morgages, and be incarcerated in comfort, if the police do get to the truth of certain funding matters.
