Internet Explorer 7

Recommended Posts

I was stupid enough to accept installation of IE7 when it was offered on AutoUpdate. Now whenever I open it (I do need IE for some business applications), it goes to http://runonce.msn.com/runonce2.aspx which displays something in Japanese.

Any idea what that is...? I have set a 'Home' page, but it never comes up.

Maybe I should have tried to read it instead or (or before) posting here.

Clicking on the Google choice, then 'Continue' made it go away. But why does it have to be in Japanese?

Actually my whole system is getting more and more Japanese. But it is a completely English Windows with all English software. Today my (English) Outlook crashed, and I got this pop-up

What is happening to me...?

There must be something in the background of Explorer/Outlook that knows you are in Japan - perhaps via your ISP reference. Just a wild guess.

When I click on your runonce link it comes up in English.

I assume you only get these Japanese windows when on the internet....?

I know this will be of little consolation to you - but my IE7 installation is running perfectly with Google selected in runonce for searches.
