Alan2273
svchost.exe is part of the microsoft operating system, however it can also be a virus or trojan depending on where it is located.Post a HJT log for one of the experts to look at.http://forums.windowsforum.org/index.php?showtopic=6901
Scarecrow Man
I recently had the same problem with CPU usage jumping unusually high. I used ProcessExplorer from Sysinternals and found that AutomaticUpdates Services was causing the problem. Once disabling the service, everything is fine. I now have to do manual updates, but I do that anyways. Here is my thread: http://forums.windowsforum.org/index.php?s...c=27898&hl=Here is Sysinternals ProcessExplorer: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysintern...ssExplorer.mspx
