Scarthy © ® ™
Hi all,I have seen that you can add a file to a thread. Could you add an image etc???This would be good if you can....eg. Imagine this as a page/ thread...hehehe___________blah blah blahblah rhubarb blah blah blah[nice picture]blah blah blah___________Is it possible? Please let it be....
Sir Radfordin
Like this?If so then you will see under the box you type your text into there is the option to attach a file. You can just attach the image there. There may also be a way to do it using HTML code, but don't make life hard!
Guest Clint
Yes, here is an image from my FTP webspace.
Sir Radfordin
So...Another way of doing things is to click the IMG button which is above the text box you type into. This will then pop up a windo and you can type in the URL of a file you want to have in the post.Giving this result:
Guest Clint
Exactly Sir Radfordin, I see that you have a good grasp of this subject. :)
Sir Radfordin
And no doubt if you really have nothing to do you could sit here and type in a bit of HTML and get the same result, but lets not make life difficult for yourself!

Sir Radfordin
Good grief boys and girls (?) those pics are a bit big aren't they! Before someone elses ask, the reson why you now have to scroll left and right as well as up and down is that the image is wider than your screen. Whilst the site can wrap text it can't wrap an image. As for text under the image the only way you can do that is to use the IMG tags (see the buttons above the text box). You then need to have the image else where on the net (your person webspace for example). The tag goes in the text with the source of the image in it so you can then type under it as shown hereAnd now I can type under it.For those that want to know the code used was: [ IMG ] [URL=http://www.adop63.care4free.net/logo.gif]http://www.adop63.care4free.net/logo.gif[/URL] [ /IMG ]with the spaces taken out.And one other thing, if you do find you've put a massive image in (by mistake?) you can click the edit button and change it HINT HINT!! Tankus
What about sound files ?
Guest ellas
give it a go.
Sir Radfordin
There is no reason why you wouldn't be able to add a sound file in any one of the three ways you can an image:HTML source codeFile AttachmentAnd perhaps the IMG bit would also work. Can I however suggest we think carefully before we do it? If you attach the file it has to go somewhere. A pointless sound file is going to take up space on a server somewhere, its going to increase the bandwidth of the site and run the risk of making this site more expensive to maintain. If you do want to post a soundfile then my suggestion (as a humble poster!) would be to create a link either to the source else where on the net or sort out some basic hosting for yourself (most ISP's give you something). That way, this site stays clean and doesn't get too big.I doubt anyone here has the money that PCA have to spend on a site and if they have money problems... :(
