my computer used to startup directly to the desktop until i installed a new printer driver ( for an hp 5940) and now it comes up with a log in box to check (all i have to do is hit the enter key, and i am 'logged in'), and i have a 'home' user account which is the system administrator, and a 'guest' account which is turned off. I do not want any accounts, and i do not want to have to have a log in box to deal with. Can i just delete the accounts, or turn them both off to get rid of this? Thanks

I don't think you can safely delete the guest user account... so I would just leave it as disabled, is the 'home user' account one that was added after you installed the new printer driver? Seems a bit strange, but you should be able to manage the accounts on your computer from the Control Panel

I don't know if there were any accounts to start with. I just turned the computer on and the desktop came up. That is what I want. I have never had to have any accounts before. My comuter at work did the same thing after installing a quickbooks upgrade, but the other one that we use we don't have to log on. I will look at that one tomorrow. I should have thought to look at it first. Thanks
