you probably know the menu bar, right? [the bar in the bottom of your screen]

then you must also know the toolbars [not sure this is the proper name; in dutch it is werkbalken].

one of them is the desktop toolbar

i really like that one, BUT is there a way to make the text disappear so you will only have an icon or something else [arrows only maybe?]

please help

I'm not sure about that, but you can enable the quick launch task bar which will just give you the desktop icon. Right click on your task bar, go to toolbars and click on Quick Launch

i know that option,

but if you do that, all windows will be minimized > that is not what i want

and dont tell me that i could put everything i want in the start menu, 'cause that is just to much work and costs to much space...[and looks also very messy]

You can create a Custom Toolbar, but I do not think there is a way to remove the text from it.

What is the NL button on the tool bar? Does that button and the text have to do with the language of the OS? If it were me and I wanted the text off I would first search the registry for the exact text. Usually you'll find what you want if not you can search through text files for that text with the search in the start menu. Not a for sure answer but hopefully it will help.

and the NL button is the build-in "taakbalk" [toolbar?] from windows, which helps with recognising your handwriting and configuring your keyboard

Right click the Taskbar > Toolbars > New Toolbar. You can point it to any folder you would like. You can even create a folder, load it with the shortcuts you want, and then point the New Toolbar wizard to that folder.

For ALL Toolbars, the text displayed beside them is the name of the folder they are in. Since you cannot have an empty name on a folder, name the folder something like ".", so this way when you make your New Toolbar, only a . is showed.

I have to ask you a question to clarify: it is the Quick Launch Bar that you want to display differently? You want it to be icons instead of text? How did you make the three different Quick Launch Bars in your first post? (The Quick Launch Bar usually always displays icons, not text.)

I think we are having some confusion about the terminology. Which, of course, can happen easily when multiple languages (and different language versions of Windows) are involved. To clear it up, this is the Taskbar, and the different elements of the task bar.

ok, i was talking about the task bar [i thought it was named: menu bar]

but the thing i want to know if you can add a toolbar to it, which is practically the same as the Desktop toolbar, only without the text [is it possible to remove that?]

As I said above, any toolbar you use will have the text of the folder it is located in. Example: the Desktop Toolbar will say "Desktop" beside it.

I do not know of a way to remove this.
