Volume Icon Disappearing

Recommended Posts

In the _Sound and Audio Device Properties_ I have checked _volume icon in the taskbar_, but every time I restarted my computer, the icon is not there. To get it back, I always need to uncheck _volume icon in the taskbar_, apply_, re-check it, and apply again. Does anyone know why it does not appear at boot-up and how I can fix it? Thanks.

Check out this:

Click on Start and in a blank area to the left of the "Log Off" *Turn Off - -" RIGHT click. Click on Properties then Task Bar. Under the Notification Area Heading click Customize and you will get a list of items that appear in the Notification Area and details of their behaviour. Check that the volume icon is checked "Always Show".
