Windows XP: Not showing my disc drives or connecting to the internet.

That is not good!

I don't remember from the other thread: did you use that Windows system before activating it? Did it work correctly then?

What I would try first is to see if all your devices work correctly. Check with the Device Manager if you have any incorrectly working devices with a yellow exclamation mark on them. You may need to install the correct drivers for them.

You can edit your posts for about 15 minutes after posting, then the Edit button disappears.

Forum subscribers can edit their posts for 24 (or 48?) hours before the Edit button disappears.

Anyway, back to your original problem. What disk drive(s) do you have? I assume you have Windows on your C: drive. What happens if you open Windows Explorer, then type C:\ [Enter] in the address bar? Do you get an error, or do you see the C: drive's contents?

Re Internet connection: what kind of connection do you have? Did you use the Internet Setup Wizard (e.g. when running Internet Explorer for the first time)?

So this problem you are having now is on XP?

To find what your install drive is, issue echo %systemroot% from a command prompt window. Then try to type that device into Explorer's address bar, e.g. C:\

If this doesn't show you the content, then a system restore, or even repair install, may be needed.
