AlanHo
I am on Blueyonder broadband and use two accounts. Outlook has today refused to send any Email messages from either of my accounts to the other but receives all my mail OK. Email to third parties seems to be working OK - I have sent messages to friends who use other ISP's and they have received them. I have not been able to send a message to another blueyonder user - I have no-one in my contacts list.Messages are transferred from the Outbox to the Sent Box when I "Send and Receive" which gives the appearance they have been sent - but messages to myself do not appear on the server when checked with webmail.I have opened the mail accounts and checked all the settings - but everything is in order. I have also used the account test feature and this reports that the send and receive functions are working properly. Finally - I deleted my accounts and added them back manually - but still no luck.Outlook Express - using the same account settings - is working OK. I can send a message to myself or to my second account using Outlook Express - and it will be received by both Outlook and Outlook express OK. However, I cannot do the same with Outlook. To add to the mystery - my laptop has also suffered from the identical problem which leads me to conclude that there is something wrong with blueyonder not accepting Outlook mail addressed to either yourself or a second account - but allowing this when Outlook Express is used.Any suggestions would be welcomed. Scarecrow Man
Are they using the same e-mail port? (are you using secure e-mail or not) is the only thing I can come up with.Default ports are: Incomming - 110Outgoing - 25Secure ports are:Incomming - 995Outgoing - 25Sounds strange that Outlook is the source of the problem, because it doesnt really do anything differently as far as handling e-mail accounts. -pops-
Before you make any drastic alterations to your setup, this might be a temporary glitch with your ISP.I've had similar things with BT where I was unable to send to other BT users but could send to anyone else. It cleared itself after about a day.
AlanHo
My port settings are standard - 110 and 25.I am stll mystified why both my computers should suffer from the same problem. I have not made any setting changes to either - but the thought occurs that a common factor is they both share a broadband connection through a wireless router. The desktop is hard wired to the router and the laptop is wireless. Could the router or its firewall be a cause? - I cannot think why but I am no techie. It still leaves the mystery that Outlook Express is OK though.....Hmmmmm. It's driving me nuts. Scarecrow Man
I would first try as pops says, and contact BT. They may have had a glitch, or can explain why it wont work. You could open these ports on your router. Depending on your router, the way to do this may be different. http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm You can also scan your ports; all or specific ports, with GRC's Shields Up! - https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2
