CJM
I am recent new user of Windows. I have Windows Media Edition on a HP Pavilion Laptop. Also I have Windows One Care for my anti-virus and desktop search. I have my screen saver set for 10 minutes, although it never goes on. I assume some background activity is preventing the screen saver from coming on? Does any one have any ideas? Thanks
nellie2
Process Explorer should tell you what is going on 'under the hood' as it were
ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb
Background activity shouldn't prevent the screensaver; only user activity should (keyboard, mouse).Where does your subject ("Windows Memory") come into the question? -pops-
Have you checked that your screen saver is active?I spent some time on the phone to someone recently who complained his screen saver wasn't working and it transpired that the screen saver was set to "none". babysun
Sometimes an activity by a particular application does prevent screensaver from running. If you have windows media player running, there is an option in the settings if you want to allow screensaver to run while wmp is still active.
