Greetings Card Software

I know that several members create their own cards for birthdays etc., as I do. I use some software bought some years ago from PC World (Carlton Cards--Create-a Card) and nowadays I tend to use the templates to start from scratch, inserting artwork and graphics of my own.

However a young great nephew living further north has asked me how he can create cards and I wonder if anyone has any ideas of free software which will get him started. Googling "Freeware Greetings Cards" produces some results but I would be reluctant to recommend anything from there without knowing more about it.

Anyone any thoughts?

There is our old favourite, Serif.. click here It looks like PagePlus will do what you want. I did a bit of searching myself and came up with a few alternatives, but I've never used them and all I will say is make sure you check out the EULA before installing anything. Javacools EULAyser will help with that.

I use creatacard, but I have the CD and find it very good.

You can get a 30 day free trial on registereing at http://www1.yahoo.americangreetings.com if that is any help.

Thank you nellie2 and r4may. I have referred him to Serif and wait to see how he gets on. Perhaps on his Birthday I might buy him something, that sort of limited software isn't expensive.
