Two problems I am currently having...

First off, for Windows Vista upgrade I need to delete Mcafee services. One problem - I can't. There is 2 services left I can't uninstall. Which are Mcafee Virusscan and Mcafee Security Center. When I go to delete Security Center it says I must delete all other services first. So I go to delete Virusscan and wow, no text at all on the box, a VBscript pops up with two buttons, both with no text. I've discovered it's "yes" and "No" due to testing both buttons. When i press first one a bigger box opens, no text, 2 buttons, one is untouchable (which is probably the darn un-install button) and the other one which exits the whole thing. That's my first problem.

Second, Whenever I scroll up or down on a page or even move a window it's clunky. I can't explain it. It's like frame by frame. Really wierd.

I cannot quite understand what you are trying to do. You mention "deleting services" - how are you trying to accomplish that - from Services Manager? You can stop a service, or you can disable a service, but I don't know about delete.

Also, can't you just uninstall the McAfee products? Or try the upgrade from Safe Mode, where no non-Windows services are running?

Well, I'm not that smart with computers to be honest. All I know is that I have to delete Mcafee for Windows Vista. And it won't let me do that in the "Add or remove programs" thing under the control panel due to the problems listed in my first post.

But yeah, I'm bad at explaining things. I just really want Mcafee off my computer. No offense to Mcafee but it has been pretty annoying ever since it came with my computer about a year ago.

Also, any suggestions about the Scrolling problem and moving window problem? It basically lags while doing it and is like frame-by-frame. Going to an internet site is fast though. (although ever few hours my modem/router shuts down, but when it gets back on, it's fast)

I am not au fait with Vista but, with all previous Windows versions, if you upgrade, it is immaterial what programs you currently have as they are all deleted, together with the old operating system (if instructed) during the upgrade process.

Even if you retain the previous O/S, the new one will be on a separate partition and the system becomes dual boot. Any programs on the old system are thus independent of the new one.

I think that's a great point you have asked here. Even me, who is quite experienced [if I can say that] with 95, 98, ME, XP, 2003 didn't take the risk to install the vista. As it is not launched in the market in full-fledged. Here I can say TombStone is quite excited about vista. And it's not bad though to get experience but it will be a bad experience if you start to get problems like this. :)

I will suggest the same as PAT says.... try un-installing it in Safe Mode. Let us know. ATB

Latest I've heard is end of January for consumers. It is, of course, available to commercial enterprises already.

Dell is offering it as an upgrade to consumers already, on new PC's.

Your scrolling problem is likely related to a video driver problem. Check your manufacturer's website for Vista Supported drivers. Many do not yet have them, but you may be lucky.
