aznfellow Posted December 28, 2006 Report Share Posted December 28, 2006 my computer has been running fine for the past 3 years since it was built. today when i right clicked on my desktop and pressed "refresh" my desktop background goes from the windows xp wall paper to just a plain blue. when i right click->properties->desktop, the only option i have is the color. the monitor is white and the options of wall papers are locked and i can't click on any of them nor can i scroll down on the list. can this be a bug or a faulty lock? help please thanks guys. Now that I have done, it has not made any discernible difference to anything.So, my questions are: Does your computer operate OK other than showing this effect?Why do you use this function? Does it do something I am not aware of which would improve my computing experience?In response to your problem, have you tried doing a System Restore to a time before this occurred?Do you have a backup of your system that you can install? Why do you use this function? Does it do something I am not aware of which would improve my computing experience? why do i use the refresh function. i don't know actually. just a habit right clicking and pressing refresh i guess. Check in the Help & Support pages on your machine for details.Think seriously about making a backup of your system. One day it is almost certain to fail and, apart from tearing your hair out and similar demonstrations of despair, you could lose valuable data stored on the machine.
