gordythegouge
Not sure if this is the place to post this but........I recently got a Sharp mobile phone and my better half bought me a Bluetooth Dongle for my Xmas. I've installed the dongle and software for it (Blue Soleil) bu thats as far as I've got. My phone says that I'm paired with my PC, I've installed Sharp's own hanset manager which basically tells me that it doesn't see any handset. My phone is set to be visible to other Bluetooth devices......but still I can't get the PC and handset to communicate. As this is my first attempt at trying to use a phone with my PC I'm probably doing something extremely stupid but I really need someone to hold my hand on this one as I've reached a complete standstill. Anyone out there have a scooby?Gordy :(
Scarecrow Man
Probably a silly question, but is the bluetooth enabled on the phone? Your phone manufacturer should also have software that came with it for the PC.Also, make sure the PC is looking for devices, then turn the phone off and back on. The Blue Soleil software when I run it, and ask it to look for devices shows the handset 770SH but I get a popup in the lower right of the screen which says:-*Connecting*The Bluetooth Dial-Up Networking Service is not available. Connection failed.*Tips. You can try to connect to the service from the BlueSoleil main window.Huh?The Handset manager software that comes with the mobile has an icon in the Tray which has 3 possible options by virtue of which colour it's showing....and the one that it's showing to me is...The handset is disconnected from the Handset ManagerHelp!Gordy
dadyassa
Just had a look in FAQ`s HERE and it looks like some of them only bluetooth to headset or handsfree kits, NOT PC`s.What phone is it ?
gordythegouge
Just had a look in FAQ`s HERE and it looks like some of them only bluetooth to headset or handsfree kits, NOT PC`s.What phone is it ?It's a Sharp 770SH! What would be the point of having a Bluetooth dongle which plugs into your PC if it's only to use with a headset or handsfree kit? Surely the fact that the Handset manager has options like File sync, pictures, MP3 etc, means that I should be able to transfer data from the PC to the handset and vice versa? I'm asking because I don't know, this is all new territory to me!!Still confused.Gordy

gordythegouge
Thanks...it looks like I'll have to go down the USB cable to PC route. I'm still confused as what purpose my Bluetooth dongle serves as the Software on the PC says it recognises the handset, my phone says it's paired with my PC, and I seem incapable of working out how to transfer data using my dongle. I'm losing the will to live!!!! I'm obviously too thick to tie my own shoelaces!!Dumbly yoursGordy :(
