star Posted January 17, 2007 Report Share Posted January 17, 2007 World IconsI have this World Icons covering all my programs Icons......with a little wavey windows thing. I have no Idealhow that happen. I when to restore and it did not change it. The names of the Icons did not change just theorginial Icons are cover up by the World Icon........What happen? It is covering all Icons, you can barely see the orginials behind it.The Icons work like they are suppose to for the programs, I just don't know how this happen and what it may bedoing to the programs.........Would this be something that happen that is trying to share all my programs?I thank you for trying to help. Delete the Iconcache.db file from your profile directory, located in C:\documents and settings\userID\local Settings\Application data (userID is your username)Reboot the computer and icons will be recreated.-------------------------------------2. In the file it contains Folders...Application folder, Cookies, Favorite, History and one data file looking page. It says USER, is it the data file (USER) THAT I DELETE? To do this, go to the user folder C:\Documents and Settings\your user\ Go to Tools > Folder Options > View tab and look for Hidden Files and Folders. Make sure 'Show hidden files' option is turned on. Press OK.You should now be able to get into the \Local Settings\Application Data\. Locate and delete IconCache.db and restart. I did uncheck hidden filesand folders........I still could not find that IconCache.db. I went to find and typed in everything from users, profiles, I would find a users name there wasn't and IconCache.db in it....I looked in all the files. I have Windows Me, can I install Windows Home Addition with out any problems?I got a digial Camera and I can't use the program. I have heard conflicting reports about installing XP's onolder Windows. I have never used ME, but this is how to do it in XP, so give it a try. Press the Print Screen button, near to top right on the keyboard, then Start/Accessories/Paint. When Paint is open click Edit/Paste. Then click File Save as, and save to a folder, I would suggest either My Documents or My pictures, as either a JPeg or Giff. When you have written in the reply box on the forum, click on Browse, bottom right of the reply box. Click on the image in your folder and click Open. Then click the UPLOAD button on the form in the little green box. Finally make you post and the image will appear in your post. Hope this helps in future. I still going crazy over this problem. I really need someone tohelp solve this. I try to restore it will not restore before Saturday the 13th, so somthing happen and I don't knowwhat it is doing to effect this computer, the screen blinks when I do certain things.....go figure.
