ddsdavey Posted January 21, 2007 Report Share Posted January 21, 2007 Ive been suffering from malware and recently did a major over haul of my pc to clean it,even deleting my aol software.That is where my problem occurred,i tried reinstalling aol but after clicking the initial setup button the system crashs to a blue screen and i get this message***stop:0x0000008e (0xc0000005,0xef71f609,0xee66aa20,0x00000000)*** 1zx32.sys-address ef71f609 base at ef71d000,date stamp 45abe5f0.This is french to me so i was hoping someone could help me out...PLEASE!Cheers. A quick Google search for 1zx32.sys reveals that it could be some malware, but I am not sure.If it is not (have your system scanned with anti-virus and anti-spy-software), then you should try to download the latest version of that aol software, and try to install again. ddsdavey Posted January 22, 2007 Author Report Share Posted January 22, 2007 Thanx for the advice everybody but now things are worse,weather i try to install aol via the latest cd or try to get online via my usual account at the point it needs to connect (or with the cd as soon as you press install broadband!) i get that blue screen???Ive tried using other disks to see if the cd drive had a prob but they work fine so i can only assume that ive done something.I was doing a major cleanup of my system on Sunday but only let software do the work and now i have to use someone elses computer to try and get help!!!Im really starting to worry,can anyone helpP.s. i tried a system restore but still IT continues. Alan2273 Posted January 22, 2007 Report Share Posted January 22, 2007 If you have a full disk (not a recovery disk) you can do a XP repair install, I have used it a couple of times and it leaves your files & folders intact.
