cnayak
Hi, I wanted to install Win 2k pro on an old laptop. I have an disc obtained from MS's Academic alliance with my college. The problem is that everytime I try to boot from the CD to begin installation, the laptops boots into Linux (which is installed on the hard disk). Is there some way to install Win 2k. The laptop has no floppy reader and one CD drive.Chandan
-pops-
Are you sure you have the CD as first boot device in the BIOS?
cnayak
Are you sure you have the CD as first boot device in the BIOS? Actually, I use the F12 key when the BIOS screen shows up to select the boot-up device. I've installed Linux and Win 98 this way.
-pops-
Try going into the BIOS and changing the order of boot so that when booting from cold (i.e. before the BIOS has found itself properly) the CD ROM is the first device.
