andsome Posted January 25, 2007 Report Share Posted January 25, 2007 I have never experienced a root kit to the best of my knowledge. I understand that Sony were one of the original perpetrators. I have however come across another problem a few days ago, when I tried to copy a DVD for a friend. My DVD burner would not run it at all, it just denied that there was a disk in the drive. It ran fine on the DVD drive and I copied the files to a folder. However the burner could not then run the files and burn a disk. Tried it on two friends computers with the same result. It just would not run in a burner drive, and any files copied from a reader drive would not burn. I have successfully copied DVDs before with no problem.
