I was logged in to my account (with admin privis). However, after a pc reboot, the computer now no longer displays my user account as being present. I've got a lot of work stored there. I know I can get the user accoutn back with system restore, but not the data. Is there any way to recover it? Keat Posted February 5, 2007 Report Share Posted February 5, 2007 If it has been genuinely deleted, then you could try downloading an undelete app.These can be found for free on G**gle.Although I doub't the actual data would have gone, but more like your profile has gone.I'm sure if you did a seach, you'd still find your data. -pops- Posted February 5, 2007 Report Share Posted February 5, 2007 You could try Recuva click here from the makers of Ccleaner.I tried it out and found it very good for file recovery provided, of course, the files have not been overwritten.I agree that it is doubtful the data have been destroyed.I'm mystified as to how and why this could have happened. ɹəuəllıʍ ʇɐb Posted February 6, 2007 Report Share Posted February 6, 2007 If you changed from a local computer account to a network domain account, then (even if you created and use the same userid) you got a new 'Documents and Settings' tree, which means that 'My Documents' etc. will not be directly visible from the new user account. Scarecrow Man Posted February 6, 2007 Report Share Posted February 6, 2007 Did you perhaps create or convert your user to a Roaming Profile?You can always try the following:When the welcome screen shows up, press ctrl+alt+del twice.
