Right Click desktop

ScreenSaver Tab - click on Power

Advanced + untick "Always show icon on the task bar"

See attached below.

This does indeed hide the icon on the task bar but I need windows to actaully stop monitoring the battery...I believe its called "windows smart battery" I actually went into the systems registry and turned this off once but it was quite some time ago, and now I have updated to vista and the problem is back and I dont know excactly where to fix...BUT i do know for sure it can be done by REGEDIT.

Any Ideas?? hopefully someone out there can help me!!! TAHNKS

Hi bobbysteals

I know nothing whatsoever about Windows Smart Battery, but maybe this would be worth a thought...

The link below is to a website where 'windows smart battery' can be downloaded. This suggests that it should be possible to uninstall. I appreciate that this is a very basic suggestion, but have you tried to uninstall from Add/Remove in the Control Panel? :flowers:
