Scarecrow Man
Wonderful idea for those of us who 'forget' our password. B) for Domain usersfor Non-Domain users (use this one if you are unsure, or ask your Administrator)NOTE:The password reset disk cannot be used to reset the password on another computer. The password reset disk that you create can only be used with the computer it was created on. For example, if you have two Windows XP-based computers that have the same user names and passwords, a password reset disk that you create on the first computer cannot be used to reset the password on the second computer.------------------------------------Please follow this link for Vista - http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/e...bd15841033.mspx

Scarecrow Man
Vista will allow you to use a different media, but I do not think XP will. It specifically prompts for a blank formatted floppy disk.
jason.b.c
Here is another boot floppy that can reset a B.I.O.S. password...http://home.arcor.de/mschierlm/bootdisk/DownLoadWhat does the floppy currently contain? The current version (Version 0.9) contains the following: * GRUB boot loader (the first you will see) with keyboard layouts for German, Spanish and French (English is supported by your BIOS anyway) and some boot templates * Smart Boot Manager to boot from CDROM drives (not on Lite version) * Memory testers: Memtest86 and Memtest86+ (not on Lite version) * A bunch of Etherboot images to boot via network (not on Lite version) * A FreeDOS kernel with IDE CDROM support, and the following DOS utilities: o mKeyb -- a very small international keyboard driver o TestDisk -- recover partition layout when partition table is broken o CmosPwd -- decode BIOS passwords o !BIOS 3.20 -- another BIOS password decoder o pciscan -- detect PCI network cards (to know which etherboot module to load) (not on Lite version) o lucifer (download: DOS/UNIX)-- simple CPU burn-in test o
