JesseBassett
hello, I am using Norton 360 under the trial license. Just this morning, Auto-Protect has been turning itself off. I can't reenable it by pressing the "fix" button either. Restarting does not fix the issue. See my sig for computer specs. What can I do to fix this? andsome
I wait with interest to see how many suggestions you get to remove Norton. It has a generally lousy name on here. I learnt my lesson with Norton a long time ago.
nellie2
I suggest you have a look at the free stuff here and choose one of the free AV's available, Avast or AVG are very popular. Download the file and then disconnect from the internet, uninstall the Norton trial and install the free AV you chose. You can then reconnect to the internet and update the new anti virus and bobs your uncle. You may need to use the Norton Removal Tool to get Norton fully off your computer. JesseBassett
Well I took your suggestions. I removed Norton 360 using the removal tool. I found a cool Free antivirus from BitDefender and am using the Kerio Personal firewall. Both seem to work quietly in the background, unlike Norton. IMTNT
I may be wrong but I think the free BitDefender only offers on demand scanning and does not provide real-time protection.
