cozofdeath Posted March 10, 2007 Report Share Posted March 10, 2007 You shouldn't be able to restore anything that has been written over, especially written over several times. This is usually called secure deletion. But the total file must be written over not just parts. If you use Simple File Shredder on a file you will not be able to recover the file later. Simple File Shredder should do what you asked in the 3 question. I think of it as nothing is ever removed. Not even if you move a file (within the same volume). It just gets the path changed in probably the master file table along with other things like timestamp dates, permissions, attributes, and flags for deletion, copies, etc. There is some big time technical crap on the net about this.
