julie8548
Are you trying to do a complete install or trying to repair the origonal operating system?.Yes I was trying to reinstall windows, but I ended up with 2 different directories. I have trouble with my system restore , it always says system restore incomplete. When I talked to a dell rep. he said I might nned to reinstall windows. He said that windows may not have been installed correctly.I have a windows xp media center edition 2002 version. The operating CD tells you after you insert itto do the reinstall upgrade (recommended). But when I clicked on that choice. It starts and is finished in seconds. Yet it said it would take awhile, but it starts and then stops within seconds.Any sugesstions or ideas. Thanks
Alan2273
I am sure Dell computers come with a restore CD( from a hidden partition on the hard drive) not a full install CD. And as I have no knowledge of Dell computers I will have to leave it to someone else to help you.Could this help you.http://www.dellcommunity.com/supportforums...y.id=firstxuser
andsome
If you have a full installation CD, you need to set up and format. You will find a guide amongst this lot.CLICK HEREIt sounds as though you have merely installed on top of the old installation.
