Why am I suddenly on 208.101.35.208 ?

Recommended Posts

I was just going to reply to a post when I was redirected to http://208.101.35.208/~winforum/forums/index.php? and I had to login again. Is this due to the scheduled maintenance, or something different?

Or have I just given away my Windows Forum login credentials to a phisher :D

Jason, you've not been reading the news either :)

The forum is now running from a new (and better) server.

Certainly for us in the UK, the whole thing is much faster - it should be like that worldwide.

The forum was only down about half a day while the changeover took place. It happened in the morning here so, in the US the inconvenience should hardly have been noticed at all.

The question is , How did you try ( and succeed ) at all this yesterday when the forum was down all day...?

And also , What exactly happened here now..?

There was a backup forum available, and this was publicised beforehand.

Well , It certanly isn't any faster , as a matter of fact , i've noticed a severe decrease in the forums performance... , Very slow...and boggy...!

No , No - It was noticed here , from the first time i tried to login ( 12:00 noon ) to the last time i tried it ( around midnight ) the forum was offline... So i'm not sure how it was only a short while for you...?
