Hi Everybody,

In my system tray I have always had an icon which says to belong to the program called Power Man. The program starts automatically when Windows starts up.Right or left clicking on the icon doesn't do anything. Now I wonder what it is doing and if it is necessary for the system to keep being initialized from start up.

On the internet I found people telling it is a Trojan, a system speeding up program, and a program related to Avermedia. And everybody claims the other person is wrong

Can somebody clarify if it is a necessary program to be run at the background and what it does?

Thanks!

Try disabling it at startup by downloading Startup Inspector - it may also tell you what the .exe file does.

Obviously computers run perfectly well without it (none of mine have it installed and I've never heard of it before) so it is not a vital part of Windows and you may be better without it. If, by chance, you find it does have a negative effect on performance after disabling, you can always enable it again.
