nellie2
There have been reports that some computers with RealTek audio drivers are having a few problems after the Security Update that was released today. This update is not optional as it has been released early to address the Zero Day ANI exploit vulnerability.Back to RealTek, if you are having problems after the update then there is a hotfix for this available from Microsoft. KB935448. Please don't install this hotfix 'just in case'. If it ain't broke... it don't need fixin' !!! :-)Would you look at that....... I'm quoting myself :D SourceIncidentally... Apparently Vista isn't affected by the RealTek Driver problem so no worries there and if you hear of anyone else who are having this sort of problem but don't have RealTek then they will need to contact Microsoft for a hotfix... there is now a natty little online submission formSee here and here for related articles
-pops-
So much for the "working round the clock" testing MS have been doing on this patch - ref Scarecrowman's post here.
nellie2
I think, to be fair, the problem is with RealTek rather than MS... they do have updated drivers on their site but if you don't have those installed then you could get this problem.
