Jumbo
Hi allI have that weird problem with my CPU...The CPU time NEVER goes above 50%, as if there was some kind of limitation due to some setting...Some applications really go slow because of this (i guess)... it's not about the RAM memory, as it was 512 MB and i extended it to 1 GB, but no speed improvements have been noticed...Anyone knows about it??Thank you. Alan2273
Have you got 2 x 512mb ram, if so go into the BIOS and turn of hyperthreading.
Raddy
Since you have a Pentium 4, I'm guessing you have hyperthreading enabled, like Alan said. Hit CTRL+ALT+DEL, click on "Task Manager", then click on the "Performance" tab. If your CPU usage bar is split into two columns like this:Then you have hyperthreading. Hyperthreading is an option available on P4 processors and all it does is basically simulate a dual-core processor with a single core. You can disable it if you want, but it seems strange that a Pentium 4 would cause system lag, they're generally fairly fast. Perhaps try defragmenting your hard drive? Raddy
I tried posting with the thumbnail from photoamp, but it wouldn't show up; the full-size image was the only one that would appear.
