Lamb Chop Posted May 11, 2007 Report Share Posted May 11, 2007 Hi just had to re do my connection as having trouble and got onto ISP tech who said uninstall and then reinstall d Link.Did all that and worked fine but - now I keep getting a message saying that the connection has been idle for so many mins shall I disconnect or notHow can I find this and disable it? Right click your connection and go to properties.You should see something similar to thisJust specify the time limit as Never.Hello Scarecrow ManToday when I booted up my connection again gave me that windows message -connection has been idle and will disconnect in 27 seconds yes or no.Weird as I checked properties and my connection looks the same as yours above. 3 - 5 seconds - never - tick in redial if disconnectedYet it has now done it twice and I checked it and then made sure by disconnecting and reconnecting as it said if active cannot redo anything - and I had taken time down to 5 seconds.Only diffence is in the Title on the top of the window.Mine says :- D Link PPPoA AU Connection PropertiesAny suggestions?I findit a bit annoying as my ISP does not respond when it disconnects and I gt up to 2 of these before it finally reconnects so have thought maybe it thinks I am still connected - other thing is it does respond and say invalid user name or password. Lamb Chop Posted May 14, 2007 Author Report Share Posted May 14, 2007 Help - still disconnecting me today even and I am at my wit's end.Whilst typing in work on the net - take too long and it disconnects.Catch it and can click no. but look away to get some more info out of the filing cabinet - and its been and gone and disconnected.then I get this other constant.Remote computer is not responding, followed by several invalid password or user name. Frustrated would be a mild description of my mood I did try a Win sock repair on the registry last night and that helped in that it booted up faster and closed down faster - but not this problemOh well........
