A thought occured to me as I was parking my car this morning....why is it that if I am attempting a parallel park........... if I come in with the drivers side nearest the pavement then I do it perfectly every time......... honest I do!!! But........ if I come in with the passenger side nearest the pavement then I don't have a hope.....just can't seem to do it.

Well I will leave you with that thought and go and do some work before anyone comes in and sees me not working!!

Its to do with how the brain manipulates the image that it sees. You do things one way when doing it into a space with the offisde of the car next to the curb and the other when doing it to the nearside.

I was taught to drive parking in a space on the near side, but have to say I still find it easier going into one on the offisde.

The reason why (most) women struggle to read a map is because they can't manipulate the image in their brain and so have to turn the map around to work out where they are going.

I can identify with the map thing....... as long as the map is pointing in the same direction I am going then I am ok. If it isn't then I have to turn it around, even if it means reading it upside down!!

I have to do that with maps too. The turnings have to be on the correct side of me - even if it is upside down.

Parking never was and still isn't my strong point (side of the road sort - as against car park :) ) even though I've got a small car with power steering.

I think that most wimmin have problems with parallel parking..

It doesn't make them BAD or anything...it's just not their bag!!!

Men are good at some things...Women are good at others!!

They cook a good meal and wash the pots well....we parallel park well....although we outclass chicks on all driving manouvres anyway :D

Ladies, don't fight nature....just do well at the things that come naturally ;)

Nellie and Artist, it's just a blond female thing. If you are unfortunate to be both then you are doubly handicapped. Just accept that you are not as good as men at most things, and carry on hanging around looking pretty and admiring us, you are quite good at that.

I just can't be getting into those lists again. I think we proved over and over that we women are by far superior in most ways! :D
