China Posted June 2, 2007 Report Share Posted June 2, 2007 Im new to this and have a quick question.When i boot up and log in, i get an error message saying that the said dll file is missing, and all that appears is a dark grey screen, or a black one in Safe Mode.Can someone help me solve this problem, as i dont want to format my HDD as i have information on it that i need to recover.BTW, im a home user, using XP Home Edition.Thanks for the help Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If you have had any skinning software on (StyleXP or WindowBlinds etc) then it may have lost the file if you have removed the software? You can download a new file from HERE. This version of the file allows you to add themes to Windows XP, something that XP by default doesn't allow without software (If I remember correctly).Anyway you can download the file from the link and the installation is simple (may need a restart after). There is System Restore in XP and that helps occasionally as long as it's switched on. It would be nice to have a fault free OS really but.....there's more chance of seeing Moses me thinks!
