jag Posted June 23, 2007 Report Share Posted June 23, 2007 Pardon me if this is not the right place to post this, but I would like to know if anyone else has had this problem. I started with windows XP on my HP with an on-board Intel 845G graphics chip set. When I purchased a flat Wide LCD display I noticed I'd get fuzzy letters, until I selected the right resolution. I upgraded to Vista and downloaded, what I thought were the correct drivers, with the guidance of HO support. I still have fuzzy letters and only resolution selections. I have it set on the highest (1280x1048). Also I only have 32-bit and 16-bit color, no 256. I think I remember a resolution of something like 14xx by something, and a 256 selection. Is your refresh rate correct for your monitor and have you turned off ClearType? jag Posted June 24, 2007 Author Report Share Posted June 24, 2007 I went to the appearance setting and the cleartype was off. I turned it on and nothing changed. I went to the tuner link that was provided and it keeps telling me that cleartype needs to be on, irrespective whether I check the Turn on box or not.
