htimst
I was wondering if it's possible to have a local and remote keyboard video mouse with XP. I was hoping to have a KVM at my desk, then a KVM in my shop 14 feet away. If this is possible, and what hardware I would need, that would be greatly appreciated. I have an ATI video card that has both DVI and VGA, then I though I could have a USB mouse and keyboard as the alternate and use a KVM extender. I don't want to pop for the hardware, however, if this won't work. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.Cheers!Tom
Scarecrow Man
Go Wireless. A good wireless keyboard/mouse combo should work from 14 feet away. Of course, you will still need to run a cable for a monitor, but you can have dual output quite easily. Consult your video card manual for what it supports. You could use a KVM, but I thought those were more designed for one keyboard/monitor/mouse connected to multiple computers. Not the other way around?
Alan2273
The KVM switch I use is for two computers to share one keyboard, mouse and monitor.
