Vista and CCleaner

I have been a fan of CCleaner for a few years and always do clean-up before taking my weekly back-ups.

Since upgrading to from XP to Vista I have noticed a slight problem - it finds the usual batch of registry issues and appears to fix them - but if you scan again immediately after getting CCleaner to fix them quite a few re-appear. They have not been fixed and no matter how many times you run CCleaner the same entries resolutely re-appear.

I have found that if you right click on the CCleanr desktop icon and select "Run as administrator" - the programme runs fine and fixes all selected issues.

This is because of the UAC in Vista. Running the program as Administrator should clear your problem, as you have stated. :)

Go to the CCleaner Forum - http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showforum=4

Type Vista into the search box, and you will see several threads where people are experiencing the same issue. The resolution is to run as Administrator.
