kismetk Posted August 5, 2007 Report Share Posted August 5, 2007 Hi!I have the Generic Host Process for Win32 Services error popping up after start up, and have now discovered that my previously reported sound error arises after I close off this error message. I have tried all the recommended updates, hotfixes etc for the problem and nothing has worked. -pops- Posted August 5, 2007 Report Share Posted August 5, 2007 If you can go back far enough, a System Restore should be able to get you back up and running properly again. I say "should" as I've found that this part of Windows is not all that reliable and I've known it to fail when it's most needed.Do you have an independent full system backup? Go to the Start Menu2. Right click My Computer3. Click Properties then Automatic Update tab4. Choose Turn off Automatic Updates5. Restart the computer6. Go back to start menu and in all programs go to Windows Update or Microsoft Update if you have it. You have to be connected to the Internet.7. Install any updates in the High Priority section8.
