Rip off Britain

Why tax?

It seems as though the first thought of a cure for everything is tax. What is wrong with a straight forward "thou shalt not under pain of jail"?.

The tax route and/or fines in this case would simply jack the price up even higher to pay for them.

The problem is that we do not have resale price maintenance, so jail is not an option. If profit margins above a certain percentage were automatically all taken in tax, then profit margins would have to stay below that point.

Have you never heard of "creative accountancy". Have a look at all those companies, and their chairmen, who are classed as non dom and pay so little tax that they can afford to throw money at which ever party is in power as either gifts. loans or other "support".

We'll just have to carry on being ripped off then by the looks of things. :( :( :(
