Hey guys,

I have ( had ) 2 partitions, formatted my pc and now my second one is gone. When I go to disk management the second partition is still there NTSF, Healthy (Unknown), There are no right click options other then 'delete partition'.

Im running win xp home, (if that changes anything)

So guys, How do I get this partition to be active so i can browse it?

Cheers all

Have a look:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555056

If you are not sure what it is, go ahead and delete it and re-create a new partition to regain this space. If you use any 3rd party partitioning or backup programs, they may use this space for storage. Also, if you use Linux it shows as an unknown partition in Windows.

Yeah, I have had that thought, but then ill be running around on linux forums lol, I do have an ubunto cd lying about somewhere, but s***... right now im not in the mood. Plus if you think im hopeless with windows, you can shoot me down a few places with linux.

Even if i cant find an easy solution, is anyone able to tell me the problem? I cant view the partition in windows explorer because..........

PS.

I really dont want to loose the data on it

Cheers guys

We have some very capable Linux users here.

Don't do yourself down ......... I am a total novice with Linux, but was able to run Ubuntu from its Live CD - no problem and as it was so easy, I then installed it as a dual boot with XP.
