"We currently expect to deliver SP1 during the first quarter of 2008, but we will collect customer feedback from our upcoming beta process before setting a final date. Quality is our most important factor when determining availability." -pops- Posted August 30, 2007 Report Share Posted August 30, 2007 It always amazes me that, after alpha and beta and more testing by many thousands of people, patches and "Band-Aid" repairs are required so soon after launch. These errors in the system are things that could and should have been seen and sorted out before the O/S was offered to the public.This happens at every new Windows version and I am left wondering what is the real point of beta testing? Is it to give pre-launch publicity or is it genuinely to try and look for potential problems?I didn't beta test Vista but I did do it for XP and 98. In both XP and 98 there were notable problems which were reported by a number of people but nothing was done about them until at least SP1 making me, at least, feel as though I had wasted my time.
