andsome Posted August 31, 2007 Report Share Posted August 31, 2007 I had no trouble with Norton System Works for some time, apart from its invasiveness and the fact that it was a resource hog, until one day an update would not install. Uninstalling the program, and reinstalling it did not solve the problem. After a hell of a game trying to contact their help, I was told to download a removal tool. This did not complete the job properly, so another was suggested. After several attempts one of their so called experts was put on the job. Eventually, it needed another couple of tools, followed by manual cleaning of the registry. At that point I purchased Nod 32 instead. NEVER AGAIN NORTON FOR ME. rong Posted August 31, 2007 Report Share Posted August 31, 2007 Someone I help was going to renew theirs, until I read the disclaimer which said that they could send your information to any country they liked whether it is safe or not, so your credit card is not safe with them. Irene Posted August 31, 2007 Report Share Posted August 31, 2007 Mine was supposed to be an upgrade from Norton 2004 to Norton Internet Security 2007. It was a nightmare. BSOD, screen hanging. I spent literally hours on the phone and On-line to their 'support' in India. A total horror show!After paying for a 2004 renew and an upgrade, they couldn't even sort out how to make an appropriate refund... Never got it.I just uninstalled it, with enormous difficulty, using every tool available to man & woman!!!The only good thing which came out of it, was that I was introduced to this excellent forum, which now is part of my daily life. Thank goodness I am well rid of Norton now. A friend who I regularly help with her computer had similar update and licence renewal problems.
