DazerUK
I have just got a BSOD on my Vista machine. Now when I boot up my USB keyboard and mouse don't function within Windows. Vista starts and then stops at the user login screen as I can't type my password. They function fine during boot up and I can enter BIOS and change settings no problem. They don't work if I boot up in safe mode either, I have tried using different USB ports and my motherboard has no PS2 port so a PS2 keyboard/mouse isn't an option.I have installed a clean version of Vista on a spare disk just to get access to my machine and they work fine on that install. I therefore suspect that some drivers have become corrupt.I have booted up using the Vista install disc and then tried the StartUp Repair option on the old install but it detects nothing wrong to repair. I have Googled around but don't really know what to search for to find a solution. I don't relish having to reinstall everything from stratch on the clean Vista install. Is there anything I can do to my old install from this clean install to solve the problem? MANEMAN
No, it's doubtful if you can.

Boris
I can't believe you don't have any ps2 ports on your motherboard!! It's most probably a laptop ? I've come across this lack of PS2 problem before on HP notebooks :(
